
Born in San Antonio, Texas, August 21, 1960. Admitted to Nevada
bar 1991 and to Utah bar in 1992. Received Bachelor of Arts from
Brigham Young University in 1983, cum laude. Received MBA from
University of Nevada at Las Vegas in 1988. Received Juris Doctorate
from J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University in 1991.
Served as Judicial Clerk to the Hon. Roger L. Hunt, U.S. Magistrate
Judge, U. S. District Court for the District of Nevada, 1992-1993;
and for the Hon. John C. Mowbray, Chief Justice, Nevada Supreme
Court, 1991-1992. Member: State Bar of Nevada; Utah State Bar;
American Bar Association; Member of Nevada Mandatory Arbitration
Program Panel of Arbitrators.
Mr. Royal has extensive trial and litigation experience before
local courts and state administrative tribunals, and has distinguished
himself as a premier litigator in the State of Nevada. Mr. Royal
has had the distinguished honor of serving as a Law Clerk to the
Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court, the Hon. John C. Mowbray,
which was followed with service as a Judicial Clerk to Federal
Judge and Magistrate, the Hon. Roger L. Hunt, of the United States
District Court for the District of Nevada. This has provided Mr.
Royal invaluable experience with his appellate practice and litigation
work. During the course of his career, Mr. Royal has had the opportunity
to advise and defend numerous businesses and individuals, ranging
from large hotel/casino/resort properties to individual homeowners.
He has been able to provide this advise and counsel on numerous
issues ranging from risk management liability issues, to insurance
coverage questions, and overseeing the defense of accidents involving
catastrophic injuries. In addition to Mr. Royal’s litigation
experience, he is an accomplished author on legal matters, with
the following publications: "Amalgam Filings & Dentistry:
Do Patients Have a Right to Informed Consent?" 2 Risk: Issues
in Health and Safety 141 (April 1991); "Utah Governmental
Immunity Act & Government Hospitals; Candemarin v. University
